Having helped Banking and Financial Services divisions and subsidiaries grow, he uses his knowledge and experience to coach and mentor SME business owners so they get results financially as well as all other aspects. Chris runs a Business Coaching as well as a Property & Wealth Business.

The University Business Centre in Halifax with funding from the Adventure Project Invites business working in the Digital sector in Calderdale to join us for a series of monthly breakfast events. The Business MOT Days invite eligible businesses to find out more about how Leeds Beckett University can help your business to grow. Business can book in a 1 hour meeting with one of our Enterprise Support Team which will provide an opportunity to:
• Discuss your business needs in detail with a member of our team
• Critically reflect on your business performance and potential for growth
• Sound out ideas with someone independent
• Identify key action areas to enable your business to increase turnover, create jobs and develop products and services.

Following the meeting you will receive a personalised action plan detailing how you could gain support from the University and Funded Programmes of support.

This masterclass takes place over two full days. Please note that it is necessary to attend both days. The dates are:


Thursday, 10 September, 09:30 – 16:30 (Digital Hub, Leeds, LS12 1BE)

Thursday, 12 September, 09:30 – 16:30 (Cloth Hall Court, Leeds, LS1 2HA)

This two day programme will help you to:

  • Identify who is the best customer for your business
    • Become known by your customers
    • Understand the key differences between Business to Business Markets (b2b) and Business to Consumer markets (b2c)
    • Learn how to identify your organisation’s strengths and weaknesses and recognise areas of opportunity and threat.
    • Gain knowledge on how to build and promote your brand, using traditional and social media to promote your business

Your facilitator: Paul Rhodes

Paul has over 25 years’ experience in a number of blue chip companies in a variety of marketing and leadership roles. He now specialises in developing and delivering courses with a Strategic, Commercial and Marketing bias for new and established enterprises. Paul’s consulting roles have included developing strategic plans for new entrants into markets and working on strategic projects in a range of sectors including retail, textiles, chemicals and renewable energy.

Networking Skills

Join us at our Adventure workshop on Networking Skills. This session will cover the following:

  • What type of network is right for my business
  • What to do before the event
  • Approaching strangers and introducing yourself
  • Socialising – joining and leaving groups easily
  • Making a good first impression
  • Networking do’s and don’ts
  • What to do after the event

Although these workshops provide an ideal opportunity to upgrade your skills as a standalone session they do offer a support set of training courses for you or your team when booked as a whole especially when combined with the “Sales for the non sales” and “Presentation Skills” workshops.
