Getting The Best People For Your Business

Starts in 1 Month, 18 Days

21st January 2022 9:30 am - 11:30 am

An interactive and informative webinar, that will help to identify how to gain the best people for your business.

Overview :

Recruiting staff can be a costly process that businesses want to get right and involves the collection and use of personal data about individuals. Businesses have a fine balancing act to undertake when it comes to complying with data protection and employment laws for recruitment purposes, ensuring their need to have an individual’s information doesn’t override their rights and freedoms. This workshop will be delivered by Caroline Chapman of Grounded Human Resources and Samantha Dunwell of Dunwell Data Protection.

The workshop will include how to write a job description and person specification to know exactly who you are looking for, what to include in an advert and how to shortlist applications and interviewing tips. It will also include what you must tell individuals about how you will use their personal data as part of the recruitment and selection process; and how to comply with data protection laws when processing staff personal data. It will also look at what pre-employment checks need to be carried out and what should be included in an employment contract. The workshop will be scenario based where we follow a recruitment process from job description, to advertising to selecting an individual to issuing their contract of employment.

Key learning points:

1. What to include in a job description, person specification and advert.

2. What to include in a recruitment privacy notice and application forms.

3. What to include in a recruitment advert to attract the best people.

5. How to shortlist successfully and the rights an individual has as part of the recruitment process.
