Enhancing Resilience in Business

Resilience is defined as the ability to bounce back from adversity, frustration, and misfortune and is essential for the effective leader. This workshop will teach you practical and proven psychology tools that will improve your own resilience in difficult situations so that you can remain in good mental health. The aim of this session is to help you recognise when you might need support and develop self-confidence and motivation. This workshop will identify ways in which you can enhance your own resilience within the business context.
Through a series of workshop activities, we will explore:
- What is resilience?
- Why is it important for business success?
- Strategies to manage stress and build resilience

Registration and tea.coffee and biscuits will be available from 5.00pm to start promptly at 5.30pm.

Please register in the main reception area. Parking is free after 4.30pm.
The workshop is free to eligible businesses – however, this is a popular event so please can we ask if you can’t attend to let us know in good time so we can tell people on the reserve list and to cater accordingly. Places are limited so please book early.

Dr Danielle McDermott is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology. She has experience working within the Criminal Justice System and has delivered training in emotional management and reflective practice to Prison Officers working with challenging clients.
Dr Helen Stivaros is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Psychology and has worked with staff and students in reflective practice and building resilience. She is a qualified yoga and meditation practitioner.
Dr Lisa Webster is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and her research focuses on resilience and wellbeing in adolescents. Along with Helen, she has delivered staff training on resilience and wellbeing.
