Join us at this interactive workshop where the focus will be about getting and keeping good staff. It will cover the HR essentials required for a small expanding business. The session will look at the following:

Finding the right people for your business

  • When to consider recruiting and what the alternatives are
  • Attracting candidates
  • Following a fair and effective process
  • Selection techniques, including interviewing
  • Staying within the law

Understanding the employment contract and key employment legislation

  • Different types of contract
  • What to include within a contract
  • Equality and diversity
  • Minimum wage regulations
  • Working time regulations

Onboarding and engagement

  • Settling the new employee into your business
  • Initial training
  • Setting expectations and providing feedback

The session will include practical exercises and discussions to enable the participants to address their own needs and to learn from others. There will also be opportunities for attendees to ask (and answer) specific HR questions pertinent to your business
